Get Dual-Sim Capability On iPhone, Make Calls From iPad, iPod With Konect

I come across plenty of tweaks on a daily basis but the one we are going to talk about in this post is by far the most interesting of the lot. Did you ever imagine of a Dual-Sim iPhone or making calls from iPad or iPod Touch? Well these are the subjects Konect is designed around. Konect is a new tweak hosted on BigBoss repo for free which allows you to have dual-SIM capabilities on your iPhone and also allows making voice calls to any number from your iPod and iPad.
To use Konect all you need is any bluetooth-enabled phone and an iPhone, iPod or iPad. What Konect does is it connects the bluetooth-enabled mobile phone with your Apple device and lets you make and receive calls using the latter.
Although the application is available for free, the calling capabilities do not come for free and one needs to activate the bluetooth-enabled mobile phone by purchasing a code which costs $9.99 – (I am confused about this part)
Keeping aside the price of the activation code, the features Konect offers are simply amazing. In simple words it lets you control the SIM features of your old bluetooth enabled phone using your Apple device. It includes making and receiving calls on the old SIM card, and even use 3G for chat, email, internet etc.
NOTE: On making/receiving voice calls or using 3G service, the phone that you are connected to will be charged.
Starting with the guide now, once you jailbreak your device, go to Cydia, wait for it to refresh and fetch all the packages, and search Konect. Locate the package, install it and respring your device.
When Konect is connected to the other device, all your calls will routed to your Apple device and you would see an extra battery and signal bar indicator in your statusbar. There is also a Voice settings section that lets you set the ringtone, and toggle vibration and mute for the other SIM.
Also, the problem is the developer has not talked about purchasing the Activation code, nor has he added any other related information to the package’s page.
My advice is to use this application without purchasing the activation code first. If it works for you, well and good, but if it does not and requires activations you can make your mind and buy the code.
UPDATE: As Ken, the developer of this tweak, has commented below, one only needs to buy the $9.99 activation code if he/she wants to receive and make proper voice calls. Without activating Konect, the person on the other end will not hear your voice.

How To Use Konect On iPhone, iPad and iPod
REQUIREMENTS
- The very first thing you need is a jailbroken device. (Follow this guide to Jailbreak your iPhone, iPod and iPad running iOS 7)
- Any Bluetooth/Pan supported mobile phone
- A working SIM card
- On your old mobile phone, insert the SIM card, boot it up and then turn on Bluetooth.
- Now launch the Konect application on your iPhone, iPad or iPod. Got the app’s ‘More’ section and enable the Bluetooth switch.
- Switch to your old phone now and search for nearby Bluetooth device. You would see a new device named Konect. Lastly, pair ‘Konect’ with your old phone. If it asks for a password to pair the two devices, use ‘0000’. To ensure the Konect app has been paired successfully to your Apple device, see the More section of the Konect app – the ‘Connection Status’ light would turn green. If you tap on ‘Web Settings’, 3G service will be activated on your old phone immediately.
- Now you would see Activate button appearing at the bottom. Open it and tap on Buy to purchase a 16 digit code. Once you receive it, enter the same and tap on Activate. (I am still confused about this part, so read till the end of this post)
- Once you have successfully activated your device you are good to go and can start making calls, receiving calls and using 3G on your Apple device.
Is Konect Worth It?
To be honest it is a brilliant concept that actually adds calling and 3G capabilities to your unsupported Apple devices with the help of the oldest of the phones. However, the $9.99 activation code is a bit too much and another question is which countries does this app support. Since it uses bluetooth all the time, of course your Apple device as well as the old feature phone’s battery will drain fast. Also, the problem is the developer has not talked about purchasing the Activation code, nor has he added any other related information to the package’s page.
Konect Worked For Me
I tried the app and connected Nokia 7610 Supernova and Nokia X2 one by one with my iPhone and was able to make and receive calls and even use 3G. So, thankfully the app worked for me and did not ask me to purchase the activation code.My advice is to use this application without purchasing the activation code first. If it works for you, well and good, but if it does not and requires activations you can make your mind and buy the code.

Thanks for review,
ReplyDeleteYou don't need to buy the activation code unless you want to unlock all the features in the konect app. In fact, most of the app features are free to use, but only one is locked.
That feature is the one that allows you to be heard when you are making or receiving calls.
Thank you for correcting me Ken. You have developed a brilliant tweak and your comment will certainly help iOS users who want to try it.
