Official uTorrent Client For Windows Phone Lets Manage Torrent Downloads Remotely: uTorrent Remote Beta

While most of the reputed services are available on iOS and Android in the form of their respective clients, Windows Phone users have not been so lucky yet and they are still deprived of many great services which are available on the remaining platforms.
If we talk about torrents, iOS and Android device owners have plenty of torrent clients to consider but unfortunately Windows Phone users never had any such client, until today. The official client of one of the most popular services, uTorrent has finally been released for Windows Phone OS.

uTorrent Remote Beta is part of the latest uTorrent for Windows and Mac, and it application securely connects to your home computer from anywhere you have an internet connection. It offers on the go downloading capability and one can also check RSS feeds on it. Further, basic features such as adding, removing, starting, stopping, and checking download progress of a torrent are also available.
Now to get started with the application you will have to enable remote access for the uTorrent application present on your home computer. To do so, launch uTorrent on your computer, open settings and navigate to Remote section present in the left pane. Click on it and then in the main window, check the box saying Enable uTorrent Remote Access.
Now for authentication you will have to enter a name of your choice in the space next to Computer and also a password of your choice in the space next to Password. Now click on Apply and you will asked for a security question of your choice along with an answer. You can either create your own security question and answer or use the default security question.
Now coming back to the phone app, you will have to enter your username and password to access the desktop client. As soon as you enter the credentials, all your torrents which are active on your computer, will immediately appear in the Windows Phone uTorrent application. To change the state of a torrent you can either use the options given in the bottom bar or by tapping on the icon corresponding to it. One can even filter torrents by their current status such as downloading, stopped or seeding.
To add a torrent to the desktop client from your phone, you may copy its URL (if you are surfing through torrent files on the windows phone browser) and tap on the add torrent option. Immediately the torrent will be added to your desktop client. Similarly if you make any changes on the desktop client, the same will instantly be mirrored on the windows phone client.
One interesting feature of the app is that if a torrent file contains photos, you can download them to your device. To do so tap on the torrent for additional details, where you will see the contained photo files. Now just select the image and hit the download button.The downloaded images will be stored in Saved Image album of the Pictures hub.
