One of the most interesting features of iOS 7 is the background app updater which, like Android, updates installed application to their latest versions automatically. Though there are a lot of positive features on the latest version of iOS, many users are still not convinced by Apple’s efforts are sticking to iOS 6. So obviously they would be more than happy to have the automatic app-update functionality on their iOS devices. Wouldn’t they?

Auto App Updater does exactly what I am talking about here. This Cydia tweak is capable of updating installed applications without any hassles on iOS 6 and works like a charm. The tweak would cost you $2.99 and comes with plenty of nice options like selecting automatic update intervals, setting the battery level below which the tweak is not allowed to update apps and hiding app store badges.

In addition to these you can also enable the Wifi only and AC Power only toggles which make the tweak update apps only when you are connected to a Wi-Fi and connected to AC power. You will also be able to set the update check-time and choose what the tweak has to do when your device is in deep sleep.

Once you purchase the package from Cydia and respring your device, just head to the stock Settings app and scroll down until you see Auto App Updater. From under there you can configure all the aforementioned options as per your requirement and then sit back and relax.

Whenever the tweak checks for an update (as per the set Check time) and it finds an app due for its update, it will automatically start downloading the update without the need for you to permit it do so. This means no hassles and smooth updates. When an app is being updated you will see the tweak’s icon on the top left of the icon of the app.

But what if you do not want an app to get updated? For that there is a very useful section under the Auto App Updater’s settings, called App Settings. Under that there is a list of all the installed apps and you can enable or disable auto updates for specific apps.

Well for me the tweak has been working brilliant and though it is a bit pricier, you are definitely going to like it.
