Apple has done a great job in making the each of its iPhones distinguishable from the other devices of the same family. Talking in context of iOS 7, the camera application on iPhone 5 and later, have been gifted with live camera filters which is indeed a great addition.

Unlike third party applications which add different types of effect once a picture has been taken, the iOS 7 Camera app on the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S can do this in real time. Unfortunately, Apple did not bother to add the same feature on the remaining devices including the iPhone 4 and the older generation iPads.

Thankfully, one of the iOS developers took the initiative and has developed a tweak called Live Effects Enabler which adds the live camera effects on iPhone 4 and iPads as well. The tweak is available for free and is hosted on BigBoss repository.

  • Tap on the button and you will see all the newly added filters (refer to the very first image of the post)

  • By tapping on one of the filters, it will immediately be applied and the ‘Filters Effects’ button would light up.

That is it, Live Effects Enabler is working on your older generation Apple device and you can make use of it while taking pictures. The only downside of the tweak is that, once installed, it cannot be disabled at will and you will have to uninstall the complete package from Cydia.

But why would one want to get rid of the tweak when it adds so much more to the stock Camera application? Fair enough? Stop waiting guys and get this tweak. You will love it.
