CamTime Cydia Tweak Adds Timer To iPhone Camera App

When iPhone 3G was launched, it carried one of the best phone cameras onboard and then came the iPhone 4 that sported an even more stunning camera. But over these years of evolution, third party app developers never stopped making apps that could enhance the stock camera capabilities. But one of the features that I strongly miss in the stock iPhone camera app is self timer which is a must-have feature provided the quality of a camera is good.
If we consider only those apps which add the self timer functionality to the camera, there are hardly any good names to mention. But the App Store does offer a bunch of such apps such as Camera Timer, FotoTImer, Self-Timer, Camera+ etc. I wont hesitate saying that these apps have done an appreciable job, but the fact remains that Cydia tweaks perform a way too better job.
Today I will be reviewing a Cydia tweak that adds the missing self time feature to the stock camera app without compromising on the quality of the picture to be taken. Since it is available for free on the Cydia store, you must not hesitate giving it a try. Once you download the tweak and respring your device a small camera button will be added in between the click button and the photo stream icon (look into the second image)

You should be glad that the tweak is now added and you are ready to take pictures. Every time you want to take a timed picture, open the camera app and just tap the timer button. Once done a small window will pop up where you need to enter the time in seconds using the number pad.
After entering the time in seconds hit OK and it is time to run and take the pose. The app will now start a timer and the countdown will be displayed in a small window on the screen. If you want to stop the countdown anytime, you can press the Stop button.

That is it and the picture will be taken shortly. I personally love this app as you simply place your iphone on the tripod, set the time in seconds and click pictures where you will not be absent anymore.
Readers who own a jailbroken device can benefit from this app while for those who do not want to jailbreak, Camera+ is a seriously good alternative for them.
