Speech to text technology is now being widely used on almost all type of operating systems and it is further encouraging app developers to create new and innovative applications. While iOS and Android are using this technology to a great extent, Windows Phone OS is yet to exploit speech to text capabilities. Microsoft’s TellMe is just like Siri and works wonderfully for a couple of words only, but if you wish to dictate sentences to this service, things will turn out to be a little annoying.
But there are a couple of good windows phone apps that have successfully used the speech to text technology and today we are going to talk about one such app.

Say Mail! is a a simple application with which you can compose emails using your voice. One can dictate the desired content of the email and the app will convert your words into text without much fuss.
What I really like about the application is the interface which does not have too many options or buttons to confuse you. Instead it offers only two basic functions: one to compose emails by voice, and the other to listen to an email.

The only configuration it needs is for an email account. So if you have an email account already set up, the app will be ready to take dictations as soon as you launch it. The moment the app is launched, it will start listening to you which is the Auto-Dictate On Startup feature enabled by default. If you do not wish to have it enabled on startup, you may disable it by going into the settings of the app (the settings gear button present at the bottom left).
You can also enable/disable Say Mail! app signature which is ‘sent via Windows Phone’ by default, from the same settings section.
To manually start a dictation, you need to hit the Say button and once you are done with your dictation, you can review the composed email by tapping on the Hear button. When the Send button is hit, a list of contacts is displayed on the screen from where you can select the recipient.
The app is priced at $0.99 which is fair enough as it is super accurate and using it is very easy.
NOTE: The app uses an active internet connection to convert speech to text.
