Google Play Music Arrives On iOS: But User’s Can’t Buy Songs

It has been a long wait but finally Google’s amazing music service, Google Play Music has arrived on iOS. Android users have been enjoying the service for the past six months but it took a little longer for the app to come to iOS. As for the features the iOS is as much loaded as its Android counterpart but with a pinch of iOS styling.
The free version of the Google Play Music allows users to listen to any of the songs they have uploaded to Google’s cloud using the music service and create personalized playlists. For people who are not aware of the allowed storage capacity, Google lets you back up to 20,000 songs free of charge. There is a Radio feature where in the app shuffles through all your songs and plays them – this feature is also available on the paid version.
Users who want to have that edge over the free users can opt to pay $9.99 a month for an All Access plan. For paid users, Google’s catalog includes over 20 million songs which users can stream or download to their iOS device. You would also be able to create a custom ad-free (unlike Pandora and Spotify) radio station from any artist, song, or album while skipping as many songs as you like. Using their algorithms Google will also recommend tracks based on the history of songs you listened to.
Everything is great about the app but there is one slight glitch. Google Play Music users will not be able to purchase music through the iOS version, or subscribe to Play Music All Access. As per Apple’s App Store policies , it takes 30 percent share of an app’s in-app sales. But Google did not even try negotiate on this.
As of now there are a handful of features missing like the "I'm Feeling Lucky" radio station, but In the coming weeks they will be added to the iOS version. In fact the developer team is also working on a version optimized for the iPad.
