Respring And Reboot Buttons For iOS 7 Power Down Screen: RePower Cydia Tweak

While many of the older Cydia tweaks are being updated to work on iOS 7, many developers are building tweaks from scratch for the latest version. But admittedly, iOS 7 is still far off from iOS 6 which supports all available tweaks on Cydia.

Adding to the list of iOS 7 compatible tweaks is RePower. RePower is a simple tweak that adds two new features to iOS 7’s stock power down screen. If you have not guessed it by now, the tweak adds two new buttons for Respring and Rebooting, respectively. It is available for free and is hosted on BigBoss repository.

To get the tweak on your Apple device running iOS 7, launch Cydia, go to the Search tab and type in RePower. You may also find the tweak under the Changes section. In case the tweak is not listed on Cydia you need to Refresh the Changes section so that it fetches all the new packages.

Once the package has been installed, respring your device. Now you may hold down the power button to see the new power down screen which now adds Respring and Reboot buttons as well.

The settings page of RePower, which can be found under the Settings app, has a double-tap-to-activate toggle. If the toggle is enabled one would have to double tap the Respring and Reboot buttons in order to make the respective feature work.

Unfortunately the double tap to activate feature wasn’t working properly and the Respring and Reboot buttons were rather working on single taps. This is a bug which hopefully will get resolved in the future updates. Overall the tweak is decent enough and does its job pretty well, and the fact that it is for free gives you no reasons to not download it.
