Ever heard about Quora? I am sure many of you must be knowing what Quora is, while for people who are unfamiliar with, let me tell you Quora is a one of its kind social website where users come and ask questions on all sorts of subjects and in return they get the most appropriate and informative answers. The website is very unique as one can ask all types of questions, regardless of the subject it belongs to.

Now as smartphones have evolved, social networking websites are releasing their native apps for their respective operative systems. Last year in September, Quora released its official application on iOS. Disappointingly there was no Android version of the same then, but Android device owners should be glad to hear that Quora’s official app has finally arrived.

Let us start talking about the app now. The design has been kept close to the app’s iOS counterpart with a conventional holo theme featuring tabbed navigation, style menus inspired by Android 4.0+, toolbars and dropdown. As you can see in the image below you have four different tabs; Home, Notifications, Browse and Profile. Above the tabs you have the dropdown and search buttons.

Talking about the common features of the native iOS and Android app, you have customizable push notifications, location based content filtering, follow topics, content sharing, in-built browser, extended search, profile management, countless questions with helpful answers and many more.

But by comparison with its iOS counterpart, the Android version has a serious edge because of added features such as voice enabled search, Quora integration with Android’s native search feature, and probably the most important feature – a homescreen widget.

You need to have a Facebook, Twitter or Quora account to have access to the app’s functionality. So you can either log-in using your Facebook or Twitter username and password or create a Quora account.

Impressively when you start using an app, and want to ask a question you enter the keywords in the search section. If the question is already present, you will immediately see the results and can tap on it whereas if your question is rather new, the app will let you post it on Quora network. You can also change the push notifications settings as per your requirement; whether you want to have notifications for follows, new answers, comments, inbox messages etc.

I am sure you will like the app. If you like the post too, please share it with your friends or hit the like button.
