Free Peer-To-Peer File Sharing On Android: JustBeamIt Android App

It was last year when JustBeamIt was introduced, which is a free peer to peer (P2P) file sharing service that allows users to share heavy data with other over the web in one of the securest ways. What makes the service unique and user friendly is that users are not supposed to create an account to start transfer of files as they can do it without one. Moreover the service does not depend on any desktop/FTP clients.
Another very important fact about JustBeamIt, which can be considered as an attribute giving it an edge over other services, is that it does not store your personal data on any servers. And which is why it works a little different as the actual transfer only begins if the recipient accesses the download link for the data.
The service has evolved over the time and in today’s time it has become quite popular. Now one can even have Google Chrome extension for the same if he or she uses JustBeamIt that often. Expanding the network a step further, JustBeamIt has released its official Android app to the Google Play store. Alike its browser counterpart, the Android client not only allows users to wirelessly share content but also allows receiving of content on your mobile device. Compared to other popular services present in the market, the app allows device-to-device data sharing which is way better than its competition services which support device to browser or vice versa only.

In addition, it also does not require any PIN to be entered in order pair your device with the desktop browser or any other device.
The interface of the app has two main sections: Beam File and Receive File. As you must have guessed the first section is for sharing a file from your device, while the latter one is for receiving a file on your device.
NOTE: The app is only beneficial if you intend to share single files at once. It does not support multiple file sharing at once, from the app.
When you want to share a file, all you have to do is browse and select the same. Once you do so the app will produce a unique URL in front of you which the recipient can put in a browser’s address bar (mobile or desktop) to download the file. Similarly if you want to receive a file, just enter the unique ID and tap on Receive File.
The files downloaded on your Android device will be present in the stock Downloads app or the Downloads folder present on your SD card. The app supports status bar alerts from where you can keep a track of the download or upload progress.
The app supports almost all the formats and is extremely easy to use. Further it comes for free which definitely works in its favor. However, what disappoints me is the fact that the app can do only one task at a time, either Upload or Receive.
