DirectionBar Cydia Tweak Adds Compass To iPhone Statusbar

I myself have been a traveller for years and the most interesting part of the hobby is searching for new places and then enjoying the sunset there. When you are planning for a trip to an unknown place, the two most important things you need is a map and a compass.
Talking about the compass in specific, the conventional compass is always preferred but now a days even smartphones have compass apps. iOS comes with a preinstalled compass app that works brilliantly on the iPhone, iPad, and the iPod Touch.
Why I am talking about the compass app here is because there is a new tweak available on Cydia for jailbroken Apple devices, which adds the compass to the status bar. This is very interesting as one does not have to open the compass app to see the direction in which he or she is heading, and it can be done from all possible screens where the status bar is visible.
The tweak is called DirectionBar and it can be downloaded for free from Cydia store. After you install the tweak, go to the stock Settings app and choose the indicator/needle of your choice from the bar at the bottom, and hit Respring Now.

Now you must enable Location services so that the DirectionBar can access your location and give you directions. As you can see in the images below, the tweak works on the lock screen, and the home screen.
Moreover it also works while you are using any app. In the image below you can see the indicator working while I am using the stock Safari browser.
Although the tweak is great, the indicator is too small to be seen which makes it a little inconvenient for people having weak eyesight and the actual compass app will work better for them. Further it only points in the direction of the magnetic north pole and other cardinal directions are not visible on the indicator.
A Piece Of Advice
If you have enabled the location services and indicator is still not showing directions/is stagnant, you should move out top an open space as your Apple device would likely be struggling to track your location. If you like the post, do follow the website on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, or via newsletters.
